A gorgeous pair of garnet earrings from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14k yellow gold, each earring begins with a star-motif surmount. Each star is decorated with texturizing-engravings, and surrounded by a milgrained border. The earrings then feature a horseshoe-shaped link, which is decorated with shield-shaped engravings, small gold balls, and a three-dimensional rose-motif. Each earring is centered by a dangling component, which features a central, bezel-set garnet. The oval-cut garnets display an incredible purplish-red hue, which wonderfully contrasts the yellow gold setting. The garnets are further surrounded by a milgrained, scalloped-border. The earrings are completed by simple earring wires. A fabulous pair, these earrings would make a bold statement for any special event or occasion!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 2/4″ long (including the earring wires) and measure 7/8″ at their widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the yellow gold settings, and both of the garnets are intact and securely set. The earring wires are secure and in working order.
