A lovely banded agate locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful orb-shaped piece is crafted in 10k yellow gold and displays two sides of rich banded agate. The agate faces are smoothly polished and display an incredibly beautiful pattern of natural stripes, which include earthy shades of black, white, deep brown, and beige. The two pieces of agate are connected by a central, gold seam, which allows the locket to open and close. When opened, the interior of the locket reveals space to store a special photograph or even a small trinket. A wonderful piece, it merges seamlessly into modern day fashion and looks striking when worn. It would make an impressive addition to any collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs slightly more than 1 1/4″ long (including the bail), and approximately 7/8″ wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the setting, or banded agate stones. The locket opens and closes securely, and the bail is secure and intact.
