Victorian 18kt Petite Enameled Urn Necklace

A beautiful enameled urn necklace from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This delicate mourning-inspired piece consists of a petite 18kt gold urn charm that hangs from a fine 14kt gold chain. The 3-dimensional urn is covered in textured detail and beautiful enameled accents. Decorative handles emerge from the sides, and the flared neck of the urn reveals a hollow interior. The enameled accents are a deep, rich shade of royal blue, which contrasts beautifully with the vibrant gold setting. The chain attaches to each handle at the side, and fastens with a delicate lobster clasp in the back (stamped “14K”). There is some light fading to a few small portions of the enamel, which is common for pieces of this age. However, the wear is very minimal and does not detract from the beauty of the design. The chain is securely attached, and the clasp is in good working condition.
