An exceptional and unusual memorial urn ring from the Georgian (ca1779) era! Crafted in 14k gold and sterling silver, this piece is richly detailed and serves as a fine example of the mourning jewelry tradition. The ring features an oval-shaped centerpiece, which is decorated with a deep, rich blue enameled background. Resting atop the blue background is an urn motif, which is encrusted with 11 bezel-set rose cut diamonds. The centerpiece rests within a clawed bezel setting, and is bordered by an additional scalloped sterling silver border, which is also encrusted with rose cut diamonds held within bezel-settings. The shoulders of the ring feature leaf-like motifs, and the band is adorned with intricate scrolling motif carvings. The back of the ring is also decorated with dainty floral etchings, which further add to the stunning appeal of the piece. A truly marvelous piece of mourning jewelry from the Georgian era, this ring would be the perfect addition to any collection!

Measurements: The ring has a finger size 4, but could possibly be resized slightly. Please inquire prior to purchase as significant sizing is not recommended, to preserve the condition of the piece and integrity of the design. The centerpiece measures approximately 3/4″ in diameter and is 1″ tall. The gold band measures 1.95mm.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold or sterling silver setting. All of the diamonds are secure and intact, and there is no apparent damage to the enamel details.
