A unique pendant necklace from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in sterling silver, this piece features a thick snake chain, which is secured by a large spring ring clasp. The chain is accompanied by a teardrop-shaped pendant, which features 3 distinct layers. The top of the pendant is crafted in dark green chrysoprase. The next layer is significantly thinner, and is comprised of a ring of rock quartz crystal. The ring is wonderfully faceted, and catches the light beautifully with every turn. The base of the pendant is crafted in carnelian, which displays a dark reddish-orange hue. The top of the pendant features a watch swivel clasp, which allows the pendant to easily attach to the spring ring. The front of the watch swivel clasp features a fluted plaque, which is decorated with black enameling. The spring ring is stamped with a “STERLING” purity mark. A bold piece, this pendant necklace would make a fantastic addition to any antique jewelry collection!
Measurements: The chain has a total length of 19″. The pendant has a length of 1 3/8″ and a width of 7/8″.
Condition: The pendant necklace is in excellent condition. The chain, spring ring, and watch swivel clasp are all secure and in working order. The chrysoprase, crystal, and carnelian pendant is secure and intact.
